Norwood Lecturer: The Microbiome and Hair Loss

We’re thrilled to have Dr. Leslie Castelo-Soccio join us as our Norwood Lecturer at the ISHRS 33rd World Congress in Berlin, where she’ll be presenting on “The Microbiome and Hair Loss.”

Dr. Castelo-Soccio is an accomplished dermatologist, currently the Associate Director of Clinical Research at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. She has recently joined The George Washington University as a Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics.

In this video, she joins Dr. Sam Lam, Chair of the Congress, to give a preview of her session and why this area of research is important. This episode highlights how genetics, inflammation, and microbiome dysbiosis may contribute to hair loss and what that means for future therapies.
