ENTRY/EXIT
Beginning October 12, 2025, the European Union has implemented their new Entry/Exit System. This does not change existing visa requirements, but may lead to additional wait times when non-EU citizens arrive to the content. Official information about the Entry/Exit System may be found here: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/ees
AIRPORT & GROUND TRANSPORTATION
The conference venue, the InterContinental Berlin, is located 18 miles/approximately 30 minutes from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (airport code: BER).
Taxi: Taking a taxi in Berlin is safe but a little more expensive than in other cities. Go to the airport official designated taxi stops to avoid fake taxis that charge a higher price. Passengers arriving at Terminals 1 and 2 use the north and south taxi ranks in front of T1 on Level E0. You can usually assume that taxis are reputable, but it is not wrong to ask how much the journey to your desired destination will cost. The trip from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to the InterContinental Berlin will cost approximately €55 day rate/€58 night rate (night rate is 10:00PM-6:00AM and all day Sunday). Surcharges must be paid for large-capacity taxis and bulky luggage. Payment by credit or debit card should now be possible in all taxis. If paying with cash, be sure to have small notes with you as taxi drivers are not obligated to carry large amounts of change.
Uber: Uber is available in Berlin.
Train: A train station is located directly below Terminal 1 (stop is called “Flughafen BER”), so you can transfer directly to trains and the S-Bahn. Take the S9 (S-Bahn) train from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to the Zoologischer Garten stop, which is approximately a 5-minute walk from the InterContinental Hotel (the hotel is located directly next to the zoo). The train departs approximately every 20-30 minutes. The ride from the airport to InterContinental Berlin is approximately 40 minutes long and the price is €4.70 for a ticket for tariff zones ABC.
The best way to buy tickets is at one of the many S-Bahn Berlin sales points, at the ticket machines directly in the stations or conveniently via the S-Bahn Berlin app on your smartphone. The ticket machines are conveniently available in 6 languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Turkish, Polish). Tickets must be validated at the devices at the train stop – there are no turnstiles. Click here for instructions on how to ride the trains in Berlin.
Hotel Parking: If you are driving to the meeting, hotel self-parking is available for a daily rate of EUR €36 with in/out privileges.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The official language of the meeting is English. Live translation will be provided via AI technology. Individuals must use their own personal devices to access translation services. Please bring headphones if you plan to use live audio translation.

GALA
Dress your best from a bygone era, channeling the 1920s in something glamorous, decadent, and maybe slightly daring. For women this can include drop-waists, beaded or embellished gowns, deep jewel tones, metallics, a long strand of pearls or satin gloves. For men, you want to wear a three-piece suit, double-breasted jacket, or silk lapels. Finish the look with a fun accent of suspenders, a pocket watch, or a hat to impress.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR THE CONGRESS APP
- Be sure to enable and allow push notifications on the app to receive important reminders throughout the congress.
- CSI presentations are easily viewed in both the app and on the recorded meeting website. Each CSI presenter was required to present an e-poster, but many also have added a video presentation. Paper posters will also be viewable in Berlin.
- We will use the app throughout the live sessions for Audience Response and Live Questions & Answers, so bring your phone or iPad with a full charge each day.
BUILD YOUR SCHEDULE
Inside the congress app, when you click on schedule you can view the schedule by day, presentation title, or speaker. The “Browse by Day” option will mirror the program guide. You can organize your personal schedule by clicking the star symbol next to the sessions/talks you plan to attend. This will copy that session/talk over to “My Schedule,” which you may view for a snapshot of your day. Please note, adding a session in the app is not the same as registering for a course. Tickets for the courses and events that require separate tickets must be purchased at the ISHRS registration desk.
SUBMIT QUESTIONS TO SPEAKERS
Attendees are invited to submit questions to speakers within the congress app. Instructions to do this:
- Open the session for which you are participating.
- Tap on “Q+A” in the black bar at the bottom of the page.
- Tap “Ask Question”
- Address your question to the speaker you wish to answer the question.
- Listen to the live or recorded session to see if the speaker addresses your question.
- Watch for written answers to submitted questions within the app as well.
