Fun Aspect of the Congress – STAR

As I continue to plan our 33rd World Congress, I have twin goals that will be at the forefront of this meeting. First, I want to run an exceptional scientific program—one that focuses on advanced surgical technique and education. Second, I want to craft the most enjoyable and memorable meeting ever held in the hair industry!

In this update, I am going to focus on this latter goal, which is rapidly taking shape through the dedicated efforts of my team and me. Running this concept with me is my “co-pilot”—the first ever “Fun Chair,” Dr. Nina Otberg, from Berlin. Dr. Otberg has been instrumental in assisting me in bringing my vision to life, offering creative solutions and helping to execute our exciting ideas.

A fun aspect to our fun program is that part of the fun is not to tell you too much about it. In fact, I am hesitating how much to tell you about it here. I’m purposefully holding back about 90% of the fun ideas that we have planned because I believe the element of surprise amplifies and enhances the fun!

To pique your interest, however, I will share information on one aspect of the fun: the much-loved Congress Gala. Of note, it will be held on Friday night instead of our traditional Saturday night to accommodate the Live Surgery Workshop organized by ISHRS Europe, which will take place on Sunday.

The gala promises to be an exciting break from tradition while still honoring our roots. We will still have the awards ceremony and dinner, but there will be so much more. First and foremost, I want to thank Jule Uddfolk and Melanie Stancampiano for locating and securing our incredible venue, Tipi am Kanzleramt, located in the park near the Chancellery, a 5–10-minute ride away from our hotel.

Architecturally, the venue is a true wonder. Tipi, a cirque tent that hosts cabaret shows, has set our theme for the night—cabaret, circus, and Roaring Twenties, also known as Babylon Berlin. I encourage you to Google “Tipi Berlin” to see this breathtaking venue for yourself.

I have so many fun ideas that will be visible from the moment you enter, including a “STAR” moment (Something They Always Remember) that you will not soon forget. There will be a mix of sideshows and main performances throughout the evening, along with several uniquely designed lounges to enhance your experience. We anticipate the gala will sell out, so don’t miss your chance to be there and purchase your tickets when registration opens in June.

Consider this your sneak peek, because I am not going to reveal anything more here—I have given you 5-10% of what is planned. You’ll definitely want to join us in person this year. While I may reveal a few more surprises as the event approaches, the majority you won’t find out about until you get to Germany! If you can’t attend in person, then I recommend you don’t go on social media—the FOMO (fear of missing out) will be intense!
