This month I have been working around the clock, even on my cruise in Europe, to finalize all of these plans so that your experience in Berlin will be unforgettable. Can you feel my excitement??? I hope you can, because I am like a little kid that wants to tell you all about my secret but it’s going to have to wait four more long months for the big reveal. As mentioned, do not miss the gala because a lot of the surprises that I have planned can only be experienced there!
At the time of this writing, I have finalized the scientific program, and it is impeccable. Remember that you will have simultaneous, live translation of the program into over 60 languages and we will also have English subtitles for all of the major video sections. If you have some colleagues or friends who are hesitant to come due to their lack of fluency in English, please share with them that this meeting will be one not to miss. The structure of Berlin will resemble prior meetings but will be utterly different in so many new ways.
As mentioned, the Masterclasses will give a surgeon what he or she really wants, which is a deep, granular exploration of a topic; and you will be able to choose from two options every day of the program. The panels and featured guest speakers will also be very engaging, along with the new sections of short- and long-format videos, expertly curated by the session chairs, and deeply integrated with audience interaction, debate, and participation.
Most recently, I decided to reimagine Saturday morning’s Coffee with the Experts by mirroring the entire program. I will have the masters from the master classes, the panelists from the panels, the keynote speakers, with over 20 tables so that you can get your questions answered in an extended and intimate session with the masters.
Finally, the formal program extends a full three days until 4:30/4:45 pm on Saturday (not including the Live Surgery Workshop in Potsdam on Sunday), so please do not plan on leaving early. If you cannot attend this meeting in person, I know you will regret it, but don’t miss the virtual program to get a slice of the action.
